FAQS About Stone

1] Now that my beautiful granite kitchen countertops have been installed, how do I care for them?
Answer] You will find that caring for your natural stone is easy. Warm water, mild dishwashing liquid, and a soft clean cloth are generally all that's needed to maintain most natural stone surfaces. IFPC Granite seals each granite countertop with Dupont Bulletproof(R) sealer, including a 10-year warranty.

2] We were remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms and wondered how Quartz surfaces compare with natural stone from a price perspective?
Answer] For more extensive countertops, many granite selections are less expensive than a quartz surface. At IFPC, we like to refer to granite as "affordable luxury." In addition, IFPC's remnant yard allows for comparable pricing of granite and quartz for smaller applications such as bathroom vanity tops. Of course, accurate pricing is based on your specific material selection.

3] Can I cut and prepare food directly on the granite? What about putting hot pots and pans now on the stone?
Answer] The more complex the stone, the more it resists abrasion. Granite is nearly impossible to scratch, although we recommend using cutting boards and taking care of your countertops to preserve their beauty and function. And, while some synthetic surfaces scratch easily and melt under hot cookware, granite and other natural stone products resist heat. To further improve resistance to staining, IFPC Granite applies a sealant to the stone after installation.

4] We're building a new home and would love to install a marble floor in our foyer. What about the heavy foot traffic it will receive?
Answer] Marble has been used as a flooring material for more than 6,000 years and continues to be a popular choice for bringing beauty to entry foyers and other areas of the home. You only need to take some simple precautions to protect your investment. Use a non-slip mat outside the foyer entrance and a carpet or area rug inside to capture the abrasive grit and dirt tracked in from outdoors. Dust mop your marble floor frequently to remove dirt and dust particles that can scratch the surface. Use warm water and a small amount of mild detergent to wash. Then rinse and dry thoroughly. You will enjoy your marble floors for years to come./p>

5] Our family takes pride in working with "green" companies. Are your products environmentally friendly?
Answer] The IFPC family is committed to environmentally-friendly processes and products. By nature, granite and stone are "green" since it comes directly from the earth. A company's choice of being "green" lies in its chosen process for fabricating the stone. At IFPC Granite, we use state-of-the-art laser and finishing equipment with a new energy-efficient water filtration system. Furthermore, any solid residuals from the process are recycled to concrete companies to use as aggregate.

"Over 11 weeks, my wife and I embarked on a family room, then kitchen remodeling project in our home that required our engaging over 15 subcontractors and suppliers. Over this project, the quality of artistry, workmen, and timeliness of IFPC Granite was exceptional: far exceeding our average experience with the other subcontractors. I can say without hesitation that your workmen were polite, respectful of our residence and, as a result, most welcome visitors to our home. Suffice it to say that Mrs. Heyworth and I give IFPC Granite the highest marks for professionalism in all aspects of your craft, and we thank you for setting the standard so high."
