Trowel Mechanic

IFPC is looking for an experienced Trowel Mechanic. Position will entail install of terrazzo, color flake, carpeting, VCT, and tile aboard Naval vessels. Rip out of interior spaces aboard Naval vessels, as well as commercial buildings. Will assist with all other trades as needed. Shipboard or Shipyard experience is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of verifiable work experience of inspecting critical coatings area.

  • Must be a team player willing to work outside scope of work if needed on projects.

Job description

  • Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck
  • Able to drive 26’ box truck and flatbed
  • Towing trailer as needed with pickup
  • Communicating with dispatchers, drivers and other team members to make deliveries

The work requires long periods of standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.

Qualified candidates preferred certified to SSPC C-7 or C-13. Can provide a history of abrasive blast experience aboard vessels or complex industrial structures. OSHA -10 (Maritime) training /certification a plus.

Qualified candidates should be capable of:

Connecting all air and electrical systems associated with blast equipment.
Understand the various blast standards and can produce; SP-5, SP-6, SP-7, and SP-10 cleaned surfaces to established regulatory standards
Has experience using various abrasives (Black Beauty, Garnet, Aluminum Oxide, and steel grit) and the equipment used for these processes
Has experience blasting steel substrates
Has experience operating centrifugal wheel blasters
Understand Confined Space entry requirements
Experience operating UHP water jetting equipment to include wands and robots.
Must be able to pass a same-day use oral drug test.

Must maintain a high level of attendance; and do quality and unsupervised work.
Excellent communication skills.
Work effectively as a team.
Follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the company.
Available to work 7 days/week as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:

Must have 2+ years' experience blasting

MARINE COST ESTIMATOR

International Flooring and Protective Coatings, Inc (IFPC) is looking for an experienced Estimator to evaluate and develop bids and proposals, manage assigned marine construction projects and proposals. Prior marine construction estimating experience is required, 5 years minimum preferred. Duties would include material takeoffs, production scheduling, subcontractor & vendor pricing and oversite, site visits, pre-bid meetings. Strong knowledge of computer estimating software, Microsoft Excel and mathematics are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain Bid log.
  • Upload all bids/specs to computer file & bid calendar.
  • Review project specifications, technical drawings
  • Creating detailed lists of work tasks
  • Supervise the completion of technical proposals
  • Create estimates for labor, material, and subcontractor costs
  • Work with Project Managers to develop project strategy
  • Research and compare vendor vs in house cost/quality.

Job Description

IFPC has immediate openings for granite countertop installers.

As a Lead Installer, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ensuring the accuracy of the contents of the truck for the day's installs; communicating with the customer(s) before, during, and after the installation; performing an accurate and quality installation; and ensuring the safety of people, materials, and customer's property during the process.

While we prefer two years of previous granite experience, we will train candidates with carpentry, cabinetry, or construction experience.

Installation candidates also undergo background screening and must have a valid driver's license.

UHP (Diesel Engine) Mechanics & UHP Operators

IFPC is seeing experienced UHP Mechanics & Operators become a vital part of our company!

*Position will entail maintaining and operating Ultra-High-Pressure (UHP) Waterjet equipment to include pumps, motors, and associated support equipment in a shipyard environment. *

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Inspect, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot 40K and 55K Ultra High-Pressure Water blasting pumps. Background with FLOW equipment is a plus.
  • Check the equipment to make sure you have an adequate water supply and that it is working properly
  • Operate pressure washer machinery to clean surfaces
  • Inspect the surface area after the washing to ensure it is clear of dirt and debris
  • Clear the job site and store all hoses and equipment correctly

Requirements include:

  • 2-3 years of manual assembly production and industry experience with high-pressure equipment preferred
  • Experience working in a physically demanding environment confined spaces and working at heights

Aluminum Welder

We have an immediate opening for an Aluminum Welder. You must be able to set up welding machines and equipment (both MIG and TIG); read and interpret blueprints to understand the product's specifications; weld, cut, grind, and finish the product; and inspect your work for accuracy and quality. Our perfect candidate has at least three years of welding experience and can work independently. All candidates must be able to pass a hands-on weld test and background check.

  • Prior experience working off lifts or staging.
  • Prior Rigging experience is a plus.
  • The ability to pass non-destructive weld testing (i.e. X-ray, sonogram) is a plus.
