Case Studies for Granite and Other Natural StoneGrommet Island Park
Virginia Beach, VA - 231 cubic feet
Continually striving for ways to support our community, the IFPC Team donated time and labor for fabrication and installation of a granite base for Grommet Island, Virginia Beach's park for EveryBODY. IFPC installed the black South African stone base which is the center-point of Virginia Beach's new handicapped-accessible, waterfront park. The "Anticipation" statue honoring the individual who inspired the park is mounted upon the stone bearing recognition to all the individuals contributing to the park. Eleven-feet-long, six-feet-across, and three-and-a-half feet high, the intricately mitered and geometrically designed stone base resembles a princess-cut diamond. The IFPC Team remarked that this prestigious project is one of the most intricate, complex, and amazing projects they've encountered.
"We are honored to be among the businesses sought out to make a contribution towards this very unique park," said Jon and Steve Solomon, owners of IFPC, Inc. "We are proud to be able to support the Virginia Beach community's efforts by providing our highly specialized skills in stone fabrication to create a monument that will be enjoyed for many years to come."

Sammy's Beach Bar and Grill, JFK Terminal 7
New York, NY
Under a local contractor, Independence Construction, IFPC, Inc. fabricated and installed the stone bar at this airport restaurant. Travelers in JFK's Terminal 7, coming to or from a flight aboard British Airways, can find themselves in a colorful oasis of sights, sounds, and menu favorites at this signature restaurant of Sammy Hagar, singer, guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Sammy's offers a cool, beachside casual ambience, blended with hot neon spotlights, music memorabilia, surfboards, and palm trees.
The bar, a gleaming stretch of elegant brown-gold quartz, flows in and around the restaurant like a stone wave. The result was precisely what the restaurant client, HMS Host, wanted and met IFPC, Inc.'s exacting standards. The team used an American quartz, Brownhill by Cambria, with natural flecks of gold, sand, and brown, blending well with the cool design elements in Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill.
The team drove up with the Cambria slabs and began work at 9:00 p.m., continuing through the night under tight security until finishing at 6:00 a.m. IFPC, Inc. has worked previously with Independence Construction on airport projects in Tampa, Raleigh, and other major cities. Whatever the project or challenge, IFPC, Inc. is ready to come aboard and produce exciting results in natural stone.
Bringing the Outdoors In and Indoors Out
Just as homeowners have made an effort to create an "outdoors in" area with houseplants and large windows, a newer trend is also emerging - to enjoy the actual outdoors more by bringing the "indoors out." More homeowners are creating outside areas that contain everything from refrigerators, cooktops, and televisions, to all-weather furniture and carpeting. Stone countertops and stone fireplaces have taken center stage in the design. Tabletops made from all types of natural, eco-friendly stonework are all the rage. "This trend represents an extension of the beauty and enjoyment that natural stone and marble have provided inside our homes all these years - to outdoor areas," says Dena Williams of IFPC, Inc. "The natural appeal of outdoor stone and stonework brings a new dimension to get-togethers with family and friends," she adds.
